Commemoration of the Harmonic Convergence is warranted at this powerful moment in history. During the two days of August 16 and 17, 1987, a planetary alignment developed into a revolution of time. As the ancient prophecies were set into motion, the transformation of the earth and her peoples began to accelerate. Since that time, the ability for conscious awareness of the Oneness within all things is more available and the acceptance of the quickening flow of energy in daily life has become normal.

As if to celebrate the power of this time on Earth, greater solar activity has resulted in abundant displays of the aurora borealis. Increased electromagnetic surges have not only been evident in the heavens, you may also have noticed your electronic equipment has been affected. This is true of the synapses within your brain as well. Sparks of energy are being activated within the cerebellum and there has been an increase in the flow of cerebral spinal fluid. As Without, So Within is the name of the game afoot. The transformational times in which you live are fraught with myriad opportunities for acceleration of consciousness within your life, as long as you do not fear change.

The energy available at this time can be used for a massive shift in consciousness globally as well. There is an obvious increase in your awareness on many levels, and the interpretation you make about what you are experiencing and what is going on in the world, holds great power. It is vitally important to remember that you are co-creating a new earth so that fact is in the forefront of your awareness. This will help you navigate the huge waves of energy as they create change within and around all beings on the earth. Your interpretation of these shifts can be a revelation for Infinite Possibilities and Benevolent Outcomes when held in that framework, or catastrophic disaster.

When you take time to find inner stillness, you can hold your positive focus, even within what may feel like, the Eye of your Personal Hurricane. You may then consciously direct these powerful forces of energy in ways that provide greater harmony in your life, in spite of the great change taking affect.

During this time in August, the Harmonic Convergence of 1987 ushered in a new era of accelerated growth and change. People now have the directive of choice when deciding how to interpret the energy in motion within their lives. A spacious, more flexible attitude allows greater possibility to exist as the surges of change hit your life. Centering within your heart helps you resonate with the Divine Love that is active in the powerful Light energy hitting the planet now. Use this force of Divine Light to guide your way through the apparent darkness of unknown outcomes. From the tiniest one-celled organism in the seas to the multi-faceted creations of Divine Light, the spark of unity exists within. This driving force in the human being causes a desire for union, misused and misunderstood from the beginning. You are being surrounded in wings of Divine Love to ease the fear that naturally erupts when you face an unknown future. You are being loved and protected in boundless ways as you face a time that is unprecedented in your history.

There have been other times when humans and all species were being asked to evolve or perish. Yet never has there been such clear information about positive change, with so much support available on many planes of existence. The Universe is encouraging you to grow and evolve at a soul level and this growth will affect all life on this planet. The earth and life as you have known it will continue to change. The question becomes, what can you do to support this growth toward Harmony with Nature and Unity Consciousness? It is a question to bring into your spiritual practice knowing it will be answered because this union is a part of the Divine Plan.

You are here to live in harmony with your soul’s purpose, and that is asking you to open your mind and heart to an expansive level of consciousness. As you begin to break through your old limitations, you are using an energy force that contains Infinite Possibilities. How do you want to feel in your new life? There appears to be so much fear around the situations that are affecting many people in the world today. From disastrous occurrences to the economy, there is great change in people’s lives. Because it is unclear where these changes are leading, the natural response to the Unknown is one of fear. People respond with fear when facing an unknown future, when their livelihoods are affected, and their personal world changes. This is understood.

We are suggesting a different way. There are more Angels available than have ever been present on earth. Unprecedented times bring unprecedented action. The realms of Heaven respond to prayer. The forces of Nature respond to thought and attitude. This has been proven by the science of Physics. In many experiments it was shown that the focus of attention and pure thought could change the direction of the experiment.

Our way of seeing the vast experiment on the Earth at this time is to call on those who understand these principles to gain strength in numbers to create new responses throughout the world, thus bringing forth a Spontaneous Evolution. The intensity of any situation foremost in your news is a good place to start creation of new thought and the realization that each person can change their worldview with their thoughts and feelings, and change the actual situation as well.

Gain through prayer and meditation the same feeling of intensity that you see on the news by focusing on Divine Love, by focusing on Divine Light, by focusing on Peace. These are all attributes of the Presence of God – All that Is, Was, and Ever Shall Be. The expansiveness of this energy quickens the frequency of vibration within the body, mind, and emotional state, and these uplifted frequencies of energy then radiate to others.

Science has proven that the radiance of Divine Love and Peace can change the energy of not only one person but also the world near them. Consider what has been called The Butterfly Affect, showing the interconnection of all things, The Maharishi Affect proving how a group of meditators could bring down the crime rate for miles around them in more than one city, and the famous experiments of Dr. Emoto who showed that words could change the molecular structure of water. Imagine the waters of the Earth being blessed Peace and Love and the waters will change. These are demonstrations of the interconnectedness of your world and the importance of working with your own thoughts and feelings to change the reality you live in.

Optimism is a great attribute and happy people definitely live more pleasant lives. More than that, the Earth needs you to create change in your own being by knowing that positive change can come through what appears to be loss and chaos. The Unknown is a blank slate and each person can, by their intentional actions and feelings, create a better world for themselves and all others as they change their thoughts each moment. When you gather together with people of like mind to bring inspiring thoughts of Love, Peace, and Hopeful Possibilities, it changes not only your being, but the world around you as well.

You are not alone. There are many beautiful beings of Light available to help. The Heavenly Realms bring forth Light and this blesses all with more Divine Love and that is the key to change. High frequency interaction with your world allows Creative Solutions to appear where none were known before. Does it not seem as though there must be a creative solution to every situation facing you in your personal life and in the world? Does it not seem as though if you could see with a more expansive vision you would see the answer? That is absolutely true. You can ask for this Divine Assistance and it is available.

Start wherever you are but understand that bringing hope into despair, faith into suspicion and love into anger, has more power to create the positive change you require because those attributes of God vibrate at a higher frequency of energy. It is up to each person to create new life where none is obvious. Imagine that there is are amazing possibilities facing you in the wake of what appears so dire. Ask for Benevolent Outcomes and know that radical change opens doors to new opportunities. Nothing in Nature ever stays the same. Why would you expect that in your life and world?

Know that you have the power to create Beauty, Peace, and Harmony and this magnifies when you join with others who also believe this metaphysical truth. Remember the highest frequency of energies open the way to Creative Solutions, so keeping your energy vibrating at a high level magnetizes these energies to you. Einstein said a problem cannot be solved from the place of immersion in the problem.

As long as you keep your thoughts and emotions in alignment with these attributes, you can ask your Guardian Angel to show you new possibilities for a happy life and peace in your world, and so it shall be. You are not alone – ever. Know with every fiber of your being that Divine Energy exists within all things. Allow yourself to receive from this Light of Divine Grace and you are blessed.

The impulse for true freedom is within every living heart. It is a gift from the Divine Source that births all innate impulse and expression. Just as the strength of the wave breaking on a beach carries with it the mighty force of the vast ocean behind it, the impulse for true freedom within each being carries the greater power of the Divine Source of all Nature.

The desire for freedom explodes from within the being and claims precedence as expansive, full and exalted thought. This thought powers the force of action to transcend difficulties and limiting situations. It bubbles beneath the surface working its way through into the light. It has such power that the impulse for freedom alone can be a break through to new life. Know that this force for freedom is the action of the spirit within you and you can use it to create new life circumstances. How does one use a powerful spiritual force in every day life? Sometimes personalizing this force can make it easier to understand and incorporate.

Imagine that there are beings of Light that hold the spirit of freedom as their matrix energy. They represent a type of angelic being that uses this empowered force to assist humanity in breaking through the chains of limitation that bind the thought processes of mass consciousness. The more people think of themselves from the limiting view points of material living, the more constricted their energy fields become. This constricted energy results in thoughts of fear, doubt and attachment to the status quo. The depth of unhappiness this constriction causes human life is rampant. It is the basis for many forms of disease because it cuts off the flow of life force. Many times there is a desire in the heart for true freedom that can break these boundaries. It can bubble to the surface, but without knowing how to make the change happen, the impulse dies under the weight of living without hope.

If one can lay aside the need to know exactly how to change, and holds to the desire for freedom, a doorway is opened in the consciousness. This doorway opens to the Higher Power and the gifted beings of the Angelic Realms waiting to be of assistance. The Angel of Freedom is such a being, awaiting invitation to work with your soul, and this angel is available to clear away the darkness in the energy fields surrounding each person on the earth. There needs to be the willingness within your heart to ask for help, an open door in your mind to allow angelic assistance, and the desire to be free from the constricting chains of limiting thoughts. The power of your willingness opens the mind and heart so help can be received, and it is an essential first step in the process of profound freedom.

Visualize a future where you are free and happy; a future where all your needs are met with grace and ease; a future filled with health and wellbeing, as well as harmonious relationships. Now ask the Angel of Freedom to bless these intentions. Write them down and keep them in a sacred manner. You might make a special table with a candle and a flower to serve as a meditation focal point for you. Look at them frequently and ask for a blessing from the Angel of Freedom for your abundantly bright and happy future. These steps will lift your vibrational frequency in the present time and help to pave the way for the future you most desire to experience. Ask the Angel of Freedom to free your mind of doubts and fear, then set your worries aside. You have just released your future into the Life Stream of pure freedom, and became a co-creator with the angelic realms.

The energy of freedom exerts a pressure on every thought that constricts life.  This impulse for freedom is so strong that once it is given a place in your mind and heart, it takes on a life of its own. It is as if you are planting seeds of freedom that blossom and grow when allowed into your being. The energy of freedom carries genius. This can be used in all forms of creative expression and can open up surprising solutions to every day situations that were not evident from the constricted state of mind. This energy of freedom carries a passion that ignites the spark of hope in your mind, inspiring others to join you in a conspiracy of free thoughts and prayers that have the power to uplift all humanity. Explosive, loving energy magnetizes the joyous souls who believe they have the potential within their power to be free, and are willing to hold the light of freedom for all who live on earth. This spirit of freedom is an inherent gift from the Divine and is available to all those who desire to live from the place of this powerful truth.

Your willingness to invite the Angel of Freedom into your life can be your connection to this powerful force that is available to you. It is time to break the shackles that have bound you to constricted thoughts. Expand the boundaries of your mind and let your soul guide the way to perfect freedom. From darkness into the Light – the whole world shifts on June 21, the Solstice. In the Light all will find Oneness with the pure Spirit they seek. In the Light dwells wonder, knowledge and the incredible gift of love which comes from your awareness of the Creator of all that is.

This is the power of the Solstice providing these reminders through a force of energy that pulls very steadily towards the Source of the Light. The Sun is only a representation of the awesome power of the One Presence. It is one of life’s greatest metaphors and hails a season of incredible growth and connection to the earth. During the Summer, it is easier to remember the Light of God and to sense the Presence of the pulse of life in the planet. Because of the empowerment of the mass awakening in full throttle this year, it is especially important to soak in the Life Force available during this precious season. Give yourself more time in nature, even if it is only a city park. These oases offer nurturing to those who need connection to the Earth Mother.

Hug trees without shame! Through their root system, trees hold a powerful grounding connection that can assist your stability. As the Life Force surges through the tree and empowers your body with the gift of love and strength, it won’t matter what anyone thinks if they see you. Let the tree know how much you appreciate its gifts. This powerful communication provides you with a deep earth connection that will give you strength in your daily life, and allow you to release excess emotional energy that the tree can use for compost. Encourage the children to give to and receive from the trees around them. It offers them a healthy understanding of the inter-connectedness of all life.

We offer these reminders now as the northern hemisphere turns toward the light of the sun. Receive from the holiness of this Light as it banishes the darkness on the earth. Breathe it into every cell of your being and be transformed. Allow this Light to feed your being and nourish you as the days begin to shorten in the northern hemisphere and lengthen in the southern. Your imagination is a powerful tool that allows you to continue to nourish your body with Divine Light. Call this Light through your being on a daily basis and bless the earth as if flows through you into the earth.

It is a great blessing to receive from the Light. Let your intention be toward more Peace, Harmony and Love, and the Light will create the energy for these qualities to manifest in your life. Use the timing of the season to move into active participation in the fulfillment of your dreams as the northern hemisphere turns toward growth of summer.

As you use the natural flow of the energy available at the time of Solstice, allow the light of the season to enlighten any dark corners within you, and visualize the world being blessed by this light. WHEN I was a boy in Tibet, I felt that my own Buddhist religion must be the best — and that other faiths were somehow inferior. Now I see how naïve I was, and how dangerous the extremes of religious intolerance can be today.

Though intolerance may be as old as religion itself, we still see vigorous signs of its virulence. In Europe, there are intense debates about newcomers wearing veils or wanting to erect minarets and episodes of violence against Muslim immigrants. Radical atheists issue blanket condemnations of those who hold to religious beliefs. In the Middle East, the flames of war are fanned by hatred of those who adhere to a different faith.

Such tensions are likely to increase as the world becomes more interconnected and cultures, peoples and religions become ever more entwined. The pressure this creates tests more than our tolerance — it demands that we promote peaceful coexistence and understanding across boundaries.

Granted, every religion has a sense of exclusivity as part of its core identity. Even so, I believe there is genuine potential for mutual understanding. While preserving faith toward one’s own tradition, one can respect, admire and appreciate other traditions.

An early eye-opener for me was my meeting with the Trappist monk Thomas Merton in India shortly before his untimely death in 1968. Merton told me he could be perfectly faithful to Christianity, yet learn in depth from other religions like Buddhism. The same is true for me as an ardent Buddhist learning from the world’s other great religions.

A main point in my discussion with Merton was how central compassion was to the message of both Christianity and Buddhism. In my readings of the New Testament, I find myself inspired by Jesus’ acts of compassion. His miracle of the loaves and fishes, his healing and his teaching are all motivated by the desire to relieve suffering.

I’m a firm believer in the power of personal contact to bridge differences, so I’ve long been drawn to dialogues with people of other religious outlooks. The focus on compassion that Merton and I observed in our two religions strikes me as a strong unifying thread among all the major faiths. And these days we need to highlight what unifies us.

Take Judaism, for instance. I first visited a synagogue in Cochin, India, in 1965, and have met with many rabbis over the years. I remember vividly the rabbi in the Netherlands who told me about the Holocaust with such intensity that we were both in tears. And I’ve learned how the Talmud and the Bible repeat the theme of compassion, as in the passage in Leviticus that admonishes, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

In my many encounters with Hindu scholars in India, I’ve come to see the centrality of selfless compassion in Hinduism too — as expressed, for instance, in the Bhagavad Gita, which praises those who “delight in the welfare of all beings.” I’m moved by the ways this value has been expressed in the life of great beings like Mahatma Gandhi, or the lesser-known Baba Amte, who founded a leper colony not far from a Tibetan settlement in Maharashtra State in India. There he fed and sheltered lepers who were otherwise shunned. When I received my Nobel Peace Prize, I made a donation to his colony.

Compassion is equally important in Islam — and recognizing that has become crucial in the years since Sept. 11, especially in answering those who paint Islam as a militant faith. On the first anniversary of 9/11, I spoke at the National Cathedral in Washington, pleading that we not blindly follow the lead of some in the news media and let the violent acts of a few individuals define an entire religion.

Let me tell you about the Islam I know. Tibet has had an Islamic community for around 400 years, although my richest contacts with Islam have been in India, which has the world’s second-largest Muslim population. An imam in Ladakh once told me that a true Muslim should love and respect all of Allah’s creatures. And in my understanding, Islam enshrines compassion as a core spiritual principle, reflected in the very name of God, the “Compassionate and Merciful,” that appears at the beginning of virtually each chapter of the Koran.

The information available is vast. It is time for groups of people to work together in the action of Joined Vision, in order to bring about the harmonious evolution within your beings and within the earth.

A Calm Heart is like a Light House on a Stormy Night

When your emotions are calm and balanced, you are much happier. It is your inner turmoil that causes the illusion that you cannot see your way. When the emotions are calmer, you will see synchronicities that allow you to know that you are on the right path. You will hear your own inner guidance and know what actions to take as you move into the unknown. With a peaceful heart, a step will be revealed each moment. Before you know it, you will be across that yawning chasm you faced in your life; the same one that scared you so thoroughly before.
